Michelle Le Chen was 7 years old when her father was incarcerated in 1975. Her mother spent the next 17 years working for her husband's escape or release. The rest of Michelle's family escaped for the 6th time from Viet Nam in 1979-1980, with most of them settling in Virginia, where she would live for the next 25 years, before moving to Florida in 2004.
